Dear sweet sweet San Diego, how I miss you! Derika and I lived in San Diego for three years and after two terrible winters in NYC, I am constantly asking myself why we ever left. Ok, so I guess that is a little harsh. Don’t get me wrong I really like New York. The city is amazing, the restaurants are out of this world and there is always something magical to get into. However, I miss the San Diego sunsets,… Read more »

Charleston South Carolina has been on my list for years. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the food scene and how beautiful the city is. Over the holidays, Derika and I had a crazy idea to take a road trip from New York City to Clearwater, FL. If we were going to drive 19 hours to find a little bit of sunshine, I was going to make sure that we had enough time on the backend of the trip… Read more »

The best way to end your Thailand vacation is ending it at the beach. After 2 great weeks in Thailand we ended our adventure in Krabi, a beautiful island with some of the most amazing sunsets that I have ever seen. To get to Krabi we took a flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and ended up in Krabi. From the airport we hopped onto a shuttle that took us to a boat that would transport us to our final destination…. In addition to spending some time in Bangkok during our two-week Thailand adventure, we spent 3 action packed days in Chiang Mai. To get to Chaing Mai we took a teeny airline called Nok Air. The airline’s logo is a cute bird beak and they give you snacks even if you are taking a puddle jumper! As soon as we landed we headed to the Four Season Resort just outside of Chiang Mai, where we would be spending the next few… Read more »

Derika and I just got back from a 2-week adventure in Thailand. We went with a friend who is a chef and is originally from Thailand. Chef T owns a cooking school in California called Tspoons, if you love to cook and you live in SoCal you should for sure check it out. We have wanted to go to Thailand for years now and when we found out that Chef T was planning a trip, we knew that we had to make… Read more »

Happy December everyone! Where in the heck has 2014 gone? This year has been action packed, but it still bums me out that time is going by so fast! We just got back from a lovely Thanksgiving in Florida, where we got to twinkle our… Read more »

Over Columbus Day weekend, Derika and I decided to hit the road and head to Vermont to see the fall color change and to check off another northeast state from our list. We got lucky, and the leaves cooperated that weekend so our trip was filled with tons of leaf peeping, tiny town exploring and cheese! Not a bad combo, if I do say so myself. We did not have much of a plan before we set off. I booked… Read more »

Over Labor Day weekend Derika and I took a small road trip up to Maine, since it is one of the few states that she still has to check off her list before she has been to all 50. Next up is Vermont for a fall color change trip, and then we will have to figure out how to get her to South Dakota to check the last state off of her list! I didn’t know much about Maine before… Read more »

Derika celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago, so I can finally post this DIY Sunglass Holder that I made for her. I don’t know if you remember, but Derika and I went a little sunglass crazy when we were on our Cape Cod trip.     I am sure that some of you are wondering why it is necessary to have more than one pair of brightly colored sunglasses. I feel that you can never have too many sunglasses… Read more »
